Wonford Road - Mixed media, oil on acrylic
When Mary and I were first married we lived in what for us was a very pleasant ground-floor flat in Wonford Road, about half a mile from the city centre of Exeter. I used to walk to work along this street every day, and grew to love the sight of the great cedar that spreads its vast branches high over the road. In this little painting I wanted to express affection for an ordinary suburban scene, and also delight that even a city street can be brimful of tiny, vibrant details.
