Exeter High Street - Mixed media, oil on acrylic
The viewpoint here in this painting is looking westwards, towards Fore street which tumbles down to the beached remains of the old Roman bridge by the river Exe, with the Haldon hills in the distance beyond. Ahead lies the Guildhall shopping centre and a busy intersection, so there are always throngs of people going to and fro at this point. On a summer's day visitors from many parts of the world bring a holiday atmosphere, and join the local people relaxing in the sunshine, spilling in and out of cafes and pubs, enhancing the life of the city.
